This video collage captures the accounts of Tamar Dikhaminjia who witnessed the war in Abkhazia when she was 14 years old and had to flee with her family to Georgia.

Project Description

The Georgian-Abkhaz war started in my mom’s city Sukhumi in 1992. At the time, she was 14 years old. The events unfolded so unexpectedly that her family did not have time to pack much things. They were forced to leave Abkhazia. When Abkhazia was taken, my mom and her family could not cross the border and had to stay there for 25 days. They were hiding in the forest and sheltered themselves and slept in abandoned houses.
