Interview Group |
During their meetings with contemporary witnesses as well as with the average inhabitants of the region of Warmia and Mazury, the participants of the interview group investigated if and how the locals identify themselves with their place of residence. Based on the collected quotes, the participants continued reflection and discussion within the group. The final task for each participant was to present what he/she established as regional identity by way of a quote, motto, fragment of a statement or personal reflection. The participants presented the chosen texts on a specific background and through fonts that best underlined their interpretation of the content. |
Photo Group |
The main inspiration of work for the photo group was the multicultural history of Warmia and Mazury and the quest to find out whether there exists a regional identity of its citizens. During the workshops and the lectures, the participants defined the main motives addressing the idea of regional identity. Employing various electronic devices such as cameras, tablets or smartphones, each participant depicted his/her key phenomenon creating ‘regional identity’. The collected material became the base for further reflection and discussion within the group. |
Video Group |
Equipped with a camera / mobile phone or a tablet, the participants of the video group documented images, sounds and snippets of conversation with local citizen that in their eyes represent what creates ‘regional identity’. During the workshops and the lectures, the participants defined the main motives addressing the idea of regional identity. The artistic concept of the videos was developed in cooperation with the workshop facilitator. The visual documents collected by the participants was the base for further reflection. The group debated the best/most interesting shots representing the underlying phenomenon for creating the regional identity and edited the narrative. Those shots not chosen for the main video were developed into individual clips depicting terms such as ‘Homeland’ and ‘Community” |
