Workshop Results

Peace in Action

This year’s participants – prize-winners of national history competitions belonging to the EUSTORY Network – traveled to Rondine Cittadella della Pace in Tuscany, a unique Village of peace and immersive educational program. Here, young people from opposing sides of conflict live under one roof sharing everyday life, challenging stereotypes, and building trust through personal stories.

The 50 participants of the EUSTORY Experience 2025, aged 15 to 20, stepped into this inspirational approach themselves. Following the motto “Peace in Action”, they were invited to practice active listening skills and exchange experiences with personal conflicts or societal tensions. They listened to deeply personal stories of Rondine students and explored the power of sharing and acknowledging personal pain as a foundation for deep relationships.

Building on these challenging but hopeful encounters, they conducted mini-research projects, analyzed conflicts and tensions relevant to their own lives, and learnt about practical ways to restore trust within communities.

Our Host: Rondine Cittadella della Pace

Rondine Cittadella della Pace is a non-governmental organisation located in Tuscany, dedicated to reducing armed conflicts worldwide by teaching a method on dealing with tensions in a positive way. At Rondine, young people from conflict-affected areas worldwide live and learn in a shared community to foster dialogue, mutual understanding, and the transformation from conflict to peace. For international groups like EUSTORY, Rondine offers multi-day activities to get insights into their peacebuilding-projects, immerse into everyday life at the “Village of Peace”, and meet young people carrying personal stories of war and escape who know the challenges of peacebuilding.

Workshop Results

We invited participants to transform their discussions and personal experiences with conflict into Instagram Reels. Their videos – some playful, others serious – speak about why social justice matters to them, explore the meaning of diversity through their personal stories, express hope for dialogue in divided societies, and much more.
